Breakfast Fruit Roll Ups

Over the past month, I have had quite a few spend the night guests and I am always trying to find ways to spice up my (not another cinnamon roll) Saturday mornings. So, this morning I created a new quick and easy breakfast that is super yummy with three ingredients that are bound to always be on hand.

Breakfast Fruit Roll Ups:

1 Can of crescent rolls
1/2 Container of strawberries
1 Tablespoon of strawberry preserves

Preheat your oven to 300 degrees. Thinly slice the strawberries and mix with the preserves and set aside. Roll out your crescent roll dough into those little triangles. Spoon the super strawberry mixture on the dough and then roll up. Tuck the ends of the roll over the top to form a pouch of goodness. With the left over strawberries, place one on top of the pouch as an indication of what is inside. Then bake on 300 degrees for 15-18 minutes.

This recipe is great with whatever jams/jellies/preserves you have on hand as well as any fruit. Change it up depending on what you have in your fridge. I hope you enjoy!

Singleness Season

To level with you straight, I am a serial dater. I don't mean that I date lots of guys at one time, I mean serial dater as in I always am dating somebody. I have not been single for more than three months since 8th grade so we are talking about over 84 months. A bit ridiculous considering Mr. Right has not been one of them clearly.

I did some self-digging a while back and found that one of the hidden roots to this problem stems from the fact that my dad passed away when I was in the 8th grade, so having a male in my life to talk through things is like a security blanket. And carrying around a blanket for a gal my age is a bit much.

So, in keeping in line with of my life changing moves (and being slightly urged/encouraged by my friends) I am starting a singleness season.

For the next six months, I am not allowed to date anyone. Not to say that if the perfect for me person comes along, I can't be friends with him, but no one on one dates/talk on the phone every day kind of relationships for me.

I need time to discover who I am without another person. To grow independently.

To be honest, I am scared to death that 25-year-old me is going to just die alone (I jokingly/not really jokingly say to my mother every time a guy and I break up). But, I need to learn that it is important just to be me.

So folks, over the course of the next few months I will begin all kinds of new journeys, a new town, a new job, a new apartment and a new season of singleness which is the one that truly scares me the most. I have some goals that I will try to will accomplish during this time that I can't wait share with you soon!

Gulp!

Suffering to Strengthen

"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you out to be, establish and ground you securely, and straighten, and settle you" -1 Peter 5:10

Reformation

My job. My house. My relationship status.

They all have changed in the past two weeks.

This time in my life is proving to be more volatile than I had ever imagined. I am currently the caterpillar who just wants to curl up into my cocoon to be transformed. The tears, heart break, doubt and uncertainty, I am ready for them to disappear. The beautiful colors that encompass the butterfly, those are what I am ready to embrace.

Chopped, Clothing Style

I am addicted to the Food Network and my favorite show on the network is Chopped. What they do is put random ingredients in the chefs baskets and they have to create a complete meal using whatever is in the baskets. The chef that does the best/makes the tastiest meal is the winner!

So, combine that with the fact that I stayed up ridiculously late last night watching Project Runway on Hulu and you get this:

Classic Gray Sweatshirt/ Overalls/ Jelly Bracelets/ Corset Bag/ Ugg Boots
I think there should be a television show with the concept of Chopped (mystery ingredients) meets Project Runway, where you have to create a new, and clearly better outfit from the clothing items that you are given.

Winning television show, I think so.

Delivered

Convenience of home delivery is something that makes sense and it something that most people enjoy because lets face it, who doesn't like to get a package in the mail.

So when one of my friends wanted me to check out this company called Tonx which ships to your doorstep premium coffee,  I thought this is truly an interesting concept! It is difficult to find great high end coffee at your local grocery store. So why not have some shipped to you monthly.

Then I started thinking about it and wondered what else people can get shipped to their door... Then I found the one thing that I don't think I would enjoy getting in the mail, tampons.

Yes, Le Parcel ships feminine products to your door with happy surprises along with your monthly needs.

What other weird things do you think people will create to ship to your doorstep?

Table for One

Getting advice from others is terribly important. Gathering up information from other sources is a sound judgement call. However ultimately you, and you alone have to make any important decision that you are calling into question.

This can make you feel alone, well at least it makes me feel alone. I have to constantly remind myself that I have support. I do have to make decisions on my own, but that does not mean that once I make those decisions that others won't buy in and support me all the way.

So whenever you feel like you are simply sitting alone in your way of thinking, know that you truly are not and you do have support.

On a New Adventure

Life isn't about keeping the status quo. It isn't about feeling comfortable enough to get by from day to day. It is about waking up every morning feeling refreshed. Looking forward to the hours you are about to spend on something that will ultimately provide for your life through the form of money.

Last week, in one day I quit my job selling athletic insurance and put my house on the market. This was clearly not the safe, warm and fuzzy decision. It was hard, it was scary and still is scary. This decision was based off of the fact that I don't love insurance, I don't feel called to do it every day. I am however in the position where I can make those kind of decisions, I am not married and only have my dog Belle as a dependent.

I got offered a job in Atlanta by my friend Tessa where I will be representing a new line of photography for her as well as being an overall business manager. This is something that I will love.

The decision that I made to completely turn my life upside down was not the safe decision, it was the hard one. It will be the one that is the most rewarded though.

I am excited about my new adventure.
